When the Game is Over (It All Goes Back in the Box) with Rev. Allen Miller
This is a book written by Christian author and pastor, John Ortberg. The book unpacks a biblical story told by Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible. “It’s a thrill to win a promotion at work, the new house you wanted, that sports car you’ve always eyed. But in the game of life, even the brightest prizes are temporary. At the end of the game, all those pieces go back in the box. You don’t get to keep a thing – unless you’re playing for the right prize. What can we take with us to the kingdom of God? Only the love we have for Christ, the love we have for each other, and our own souls. It’s not bad to be good at the game of life on Earth, but we can’t allow it to get in the way of what really matters.” (John Ortberg). This class will be in A4. Book fee: $11.00
